MID

Characters from the middle of a text value.

Syntax

=MID(text, start_num, num_chars)

Arguments

• text: The text (or a cell containing it).
• start_num: Position of the first character (1 = first).
• num_chars: How many characters.

Example

=MID("AB-1234-X", 4, 4) → "1234"
